Chairman
of SportRenfrewshire Mr. Ian Lynchahon has been elected to serve
as a Director of The Board of Renfrewshire Council for Voluntary
Services (RCVS).
RCVS
exists to give assistance to voluntary and community sector organisations
seeking to improve the quality of life for all citizens of Renfrewshire.
RCVS values
diversity and recognises social values. It strives to promote
and deliver the highest quality standards and as the hub of Voluntary/Community
the RCVS must ensure participation and communication as well as
represent sector needs and appropriate interests.
Renfrewshire
Council for Voluntary Services (RCVS) was set up in January 2000
to service the needs of Renfrewshire voluntary and community sector.
Based in Paisley RCVS have, since then, developed a network and
built a membership base to several hundred organisations. RCVS
is an umbrella organisation for the voluntary sector in Renfrewshire
with members varying from small self-help groups to branches of
major national charities. They offer other agencies the opportunity
to consult groups working in the Renfrewshire area.
RCVS
provides services to the following areas:
Langbank, Kilbarchan, Howwood, Lochwinnoch, Bridge of Weir, Houston,
Bishopton, Linwood, Elderslie, Inchinnan, Erskine, Paisley, Renfrew,
Johnstone and all areas in Renfrewshire.
SportRenfrewshire Chairman, Ian Lynchahon said “I am delighted

of the excellent work carried out by SportRenfrewshire on behalf
of our members. This gives SportRenfrewshire the opportunity to
work together with an organisation that benefits a great diversity
