SportRenfrewshire to promote EU Sport Vision 2020

SportRenfrewshire has long been at the forefront of promoting sport and physical activity in Renfrewshire and Scotland. In recognition of our efforts the International Sport and Cultural Association (ISCA www.isca-web.org ) invited us to become an OFFICIALCAMPAIGN PROMOTER to get

"100 MILLION MORE EUROPEANS ACTIVE IN SPORT
AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY BY 2020"

The campaign has already attracted significant political attention and we see the campaign vision as an important stepping stone in the formation of the European Union’s policy priorities with regard to the field of Sport and Physical Activity.

This accolade from ISCA is a great honour for Renfrewshire's Independent Sports Council and demonstrates the faith ISCA has in SportRenfrewshire's abilities.

To date SportRenfrewshire is the only local sports council in Scotland to have been included as an official campaigner with its' logo on the official petition that includes The European Health and Fitness Association, The Deutscher Turner Bund, Danish Gymnastics and Sports Association, European Cyclists Association, Nederlandse Sport Alliante, SportUnion Austria and Czech Sokol to name but a few.

SportRenfrewshire is to say the least delighted to be included in this high powered petition to get europeans more physicaly active and this year will see SportRenfrewshire embark on several initiatives that will see an increase in the number of Renfrewshire residents taking up a sport or physical activity.
